Medibank Private launches life insurance
October 08, 2008
Australia's largest private health insurer, Medibank Private, rolled out its life insurance product as part of the company's diversification strategy.
The national launch of Medibank Life Insurance follows a successful 12-month pilot program.
Medibank Private said it would focus initially on cross-selling life insurance to its three million members.
The product would also be available to non-Medibank members.
"Medibank Private's core focus will continue to be private health insurance but we will always explore opportunities to improve value for members," Medibank Private managing director George Savvides said in a statement.
Medibank Private says it has successfully sold travel insurance since 2005.
