9th July 2008
Recent figures suggest that an increasing number of soldiers are taking out life insurance policies.
According to onlyfinance.com, sources from the insurance industry and armed forces suggest that more military personnel are looking to supplement the funds provided by the Ministry of Defence if the worst should happen.
And figures serve to highlight the importance of seeking adequate life insurance provision, states the news provider.
Data released by the Defence Analytical Services Agency indicate that accidents caused half of the 190 deaths among soldiers last year, while 49 per cent occurred due to disease.
The website notes that many of those serving in the armed forces wrongly believe that they are precluded from taking out life insurance due to their profession.
Investment director at independent financial adviser Buckles Investment Services Richard Eling recently asserted that it is important for members of the military to "seek out a specialist provider" for their insurance.
SFS Group has been providing a specialist life and critical illness insurance for parents whose children are at fee paying schools since 1990 without treating Armed Forces personnel any differently to civilians...
